Dear Boodgie and your fellow UPAASD officers,
It's just a month and a week away, so I wish to invite you again to the UPAAA Convention on Sept. 1-3 at San Francisco. In case, you need copies of the Invitation letter, Information and Registration forms, I am attaching them here. If you want to avail of the discounted rate of $149/night for the hotel (single king or doubles), please make your reservations by July 31 by calling Hilton at (415) 433-6600 and ask for the UPAAA reservations. If you are planning to have a booth to put up a display or sell souvenirs, please inform us right away so we can reserve a table for your booth as space is limited. we plan to charge $200/booth for the use of the space from Sept. 1-3.
Our confirmed guests of honor are UP President Dr. Emer Roman and two UP Centennial Commisioners who are the top donor of the unviersity: Dr. Magdaleno Albarracin of PHINMA and Dr. Diosdado Banatao of Tallwood Venture Capital. These last two are highly successful businessman as Dr. Albarracin is listed as one of the top 30 richest people in the Phil. and Dr. Banatao invented the graphic accelerator chip he parlayed into S3 (Fortune 500 firm) which was later sold to Invision. Dr. Roman also infomed me that Senator Angara plans to come, but is not yet confirmed.
I also would like to appeal to you to help us solicit ad subscriptions to the convention's souvenir program. We are still short of the 140+ pages target, though we now have 90+ pages subscribed. If you have subscribers, please send their materials to Eric Punzalan at the address indicated above. We need to have the materials by the first week of August.
